DishNetwork TV2 remote only working sometimes.?

My remote for my bedroom is only working sometimes to change my channels. The volume and power buttons work fine, it's changing the channel and communicating with the receiver that's not working. I have to have the remote out in the hallway for it to work. Which of course is when i cant see the guide. Anyone know how to fix this? I'd like to be able to change my channel IN the room that the tv is in.
