Are the Mars Volta awesome or what?

I felt gypped when I went to see them at the LA Palladium in 2008. They were on for barely an hour, barely got into their instrumental play at all (which is the only thing interesting about them). Tickets were overpriced, as was parking. Left a bad taste in my mouth that their albums haven't cleansed...
